We absolutely love a Porsche here st SW Autoworx, this opportunity came about thanks to the recommendation from Scott at Bahnsport in Dorset.
One of their clients had this lovely, honest example of a 993 Turbo, but it had 25 plus years of exposure to the UK roads, albeit a fairly low mileage example, but ultimately he wanted it protected for years to come.
Dry Ice Cleaning or Blasting the is the safest and best way to deep clean the underside of a classic or modern classic vehicle (and newer) and here's why -

Dry Ice Cleaning -
We start by safely getting the 993 onto our two poster ramp and then begin to strip down the underside (on this occasion, thanks for Bahnsport, the underside was already mostly stripped down) but as this client was paying to have behind the arches cleaned and protected too, we removed the wheel arches too.
One stripped down, we cover up the exterior
with some plastic sheeting to try and aid getting it covered in dust.
We then proceed with the cleaning process, starting from front to back underneath and then bring the car down to work on the wheel arches and then return back to the underside for final checks and cleaning.
Typically this process can take 1-1.5 days depending on how complex the car is.
IGL Coatings Aegis - Preperation and Application
Next up we start the preparation process for the application of IGL Coatings Aegis. This requires the masking of specific areas of the underbody to ensure Aegis doesnt directly hit them. Its a lengthy process but ultimately, its all in the preparation.
Once setup for application we start the application process of IGL Aegis, taking 6 or so hours from start to finish to build up the required levels giving it maximum durability.
Once application is completed, it takes approximately 24-36 hours to cure before being able to go outside, during this process we started the rebuilt of the underside. At the request of the owner, we sourced replacement nuts/bolts/fixtures.
IGL Aegis in the industry leaded in protection in the automotive sector, this coating on a daily driven vehicle will last up to 15 years, in the instance of this 993... likely its lifetime. We do recommend an annual check but this is not mandatory.
Enrichment Detail & IGL Kenzo Ceramic Coating
Whilst with us our client asked if we would try and revive/gloss up the paintwork and apply a ceramic coating.
